Meet Our Team
John McHugh
President of Northside Builders
John, an Atlanta native and a third-generation builder, possesses an unwavering passion for intricate and bespoke projects. From a young age, he immersed himself in the world of construction, spending his afternoons on job sites, juggling sports, odd jobs and lending a helping hand wherever needed. Introduced to home building by his grandfather, John developed a keen understanding of the nuances involved in crafting custom residences.
During college breaks, John returned home to work alongside his family, refining his practical skills and absorbing invaluable insights into successful built environments. Eager to deepen his knowledge, he pursued a major in construction engineering. Following graduation, John embarked on a diverse career journey, gaining expertise in commercial construction, multi-family development, design, and residential building. Driven by a lifelong aspiration to establish a custom home business of his own, John co-founded Northside Builders in 2019, a venture aimed at reconnecting with his familial roots. In 2026, John obtained full ownership of Northside Builders.
In his leisure time, he relishes moments with his wife, Madeline, and their dog, Oliver, embracing outdoor adventures, continuous learning, golfing, and exploring the wonders of the world through travel.
